Like a Dog is a graphic novel by Danijel Žeželj, based on selected works by Franz Kafka: A Hunger Artist, The Trial, Blue Notebooks, A Message from the Emperor. It is a unique and different take on the oppressive Kafkaesque atmosphere, presented through the lens of today’s world. It is a story about an artist who tries to capture the public’s attention by starving, yet has to face the reality of the audience losing interest in such art.

The post-apocalyptic world of Žeželj (and Kafka) is similar to ours: an urban space in which man is lost and alone, in which true art and humanity are an extremely rare phenomenon, and people hardly recognize them and prefer to "stick" to fashion, sensationalism and spectacles.

Paradoxically, the graphic novel Like a Dog about a (perhaps the last) artist who is so sincere and fanatically devoted to his art that he dies because of it, actually rebirths the idea of true, sincere art and opens new horizons for some future times.
