Neven Orhel

Neven Orhel was born in Zagreb in 1947. From 1973 to 1975, he studied acupuncture in Paris and received further training in China, Japan, and Germany. He is a trained physician with a private office for vein diseases. His first novel Uzbuna na odjelu za rak (Cancer Ward Alert, 1983) has been translated to Slovak, Czech, and Polish and saw two reprints and 150,000 copies. A Slovak TV series based on the novel had been rerun for ten years straight. He also published Ponoćni susret (The Midnight Encounter, 1985), Ostavština (The Legacy, 1989) and Noćna pjesma (Night Song, 2001).
